The SLC10A2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12846) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the SLC10A2 protein, also known as the sodium/bile acid cotransporter. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the SLC10A2 protein, it enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types.SLC10A2 is an important transporter protein involved in the uptake of bile acids in the liver and intestine, playing a crucial role in bile acid homeostasis and cholesterol metabolism.
Dysregulation of SLC10A2 has been linked to various liver and metabolic disorders, making it a promising therapeutic target for drug development. With its unique ability to target and detect SLC10A2 protein, this polyclonal antibody is an essential tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying bile acid transport and metabolism. Its application extends to studies in liver disease, metabolic disorders, and drug development, offering valuable insights into the role of SLC10A2 in health and disease.

This gene encodes a sodium/bile acid cotransporter. This transporter is the primary mechanism for uptake of intestinal bile acids by apical cells in the distal ileum. Bile acids are the catabolic product of cholesterol metabolism, so this protein is also critical for cholesterol homeostasis. Mutations in this gene cause primary bile acid malabsorption (PBAM); muatations in this gene may also be associated with other diseases of the liver and intestines, such as familial hypertriglyceridemia (FHTG).
