Human Tau-F Recombinant Protein

Tau proteins are proteins which contain four Tau/MAP repeats. They promote microtubule assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. They're particularly abundant in the central nervous system's neurons, but they're also present at very low levels in spinal cord astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. The tau proteins are the result of alternative splicing from a single gene found in humans called MAPT. Tau proteins are required to keep microtubules stable. When they are absent, or don't function properly, tau filaments can cause a variety of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration, and progressive supranuclear palsy. Human Tau-F Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
