The Phospho-PRKAA1 (S485) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0871) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PRKAA1, a key enzyme involved in cellular energy regulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to the phosphorylated form of PRKAA1 at Serine 485 and is suitable for Western blot applications using human samples.PRKAA1, also known as AMP-activated protein kinase alpha 1, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism and energy sensing. Phosphorylation at Serine 485 is known to activate PRKAA1, triggering downstream signaling pathways that regulate processes such as glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation.
Understanding the activation and regulation of PRKAA1 is essential for unraveling its role in metabolic disorders, cancer, and other diseases related to energy metabolism. With its high reactivity and specificity, the Phospho-PRKAA1 (S485) Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers investigating the complex mechanisms of cellular energy regulation and its implications in various pathologies. Its reliability in detecting and studying phosphorylated PRKAA1 makes it an ideal choice for studies in molecular biology, biochemistry, and metabolic research.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli that increase the cellular AMP/ATP ratio. AMPK regulates the activities of a number of key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation. It protects cells from stresses that cause ATP depletion by switching off ATP-consuming biosynthetic pathways. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
