The Human CD54 Monoclonal Antibody (Clone 15-2) available at www.assaygenie.com is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD54, a cell adhesion molecule involved in immune responses and inflammation. This monoclonal antibody, developed specifically for the detection of human CD54, offers high specificity and sensitivity in various experimental applications.CD54, also known as intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), is a crucial protein involved in mediating leukocyte adhesion and migration during immune responses. Its role in inflammatory processes and immune cell activation makes it a key target for investigations in immunology, infectious diseases, and inflammatory disorders.
By using the CD54 Monoclonal Antibody (Clone 15-2), researchers can accurately detect and analyze CD54 expression in cell samples, aiding in the understanding of its functions and potential therapeutic implications. This antibody, optimized for use in techniques such as Western blotting, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence, provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the role of CD54 in various physiological and pathological conditions. Whether studying immune cell interactions, inflammation mechanisms, or disease progression, the CD54 Monoclonal Antibody (Clone 15-2) offers a valuable resource for advancing research in immunology and related fields.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD54 is a 85-110 kD type I transmembrane protein also known as ICAM-1. It is expressed on activated endothelial cells, high endothelial venules, T and B cells, monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, and dendritic cells. The expression of ICAM-1 can be released from the cell surface. CD54 plays a role in cellular adhesion and is involved in inflammation and leukocyte extravasation. CD54 has also been shown to be the major cellular receptor for rhinovirus. ICAM-1 binds to CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1), CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1), CD11c/CD18 (p150, 95) as well as hyaluronan and fibrinogen.
