The MMP9 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2095) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Matrix Metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9), an enzyme involved in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue repair processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to MMP9, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of MMP9 expression in various cell types, making it an essential component of studies focused on cancer, inflammation, and tissue remodeling.
MMP9 is known for its role in promoting tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis by degrading extracellular matrix components. Its overexpression is associated with poor prognosis in cancer patients, making MMP9 an attractive target for therapeutic interventions. By investigating the function and regulation of MMP9 using this antibody, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying cancer progression and identify potential targets for anti-cancer therapies.

Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. The enzyme encoded by this gene degrades type IV and V collagens. Studies in rhesus monkeys suggest that the enzyme is involved in IL-8-induced mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells from bone marrow, and murine studies suggest a role in tumor-associated tissue remodeling.
