The ITPA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1221) is a highly specific antibody designed for research involving the inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (ITPA) protein. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry, and has been validated for its reactivity with human samples.ITPA is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating the levels of inosine triphosphate (ITP) in the cell. Mutations in the ITPA gene have been associated with various genetic disorders, making it a key target for research in the field of molecular biology and genetics.
By utilizing the ITPA Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze the expression of ITPA in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its function and potential implications in disease pathogenesis. This antibody is an essential tool for studies aiming to elucidate the role of ITPA in cellular metabolism and genetic diseases, laying the foundation for the development of targeted therapies in the future.

This gene encodes an inosine triphosphate pyrophosphohydrolase. The encoded protein hydrolyzes inosine triphosphate and deoxyinosine triphosphate to the monophosphate nucleotide and diphosphate. This protein, which is a member of the HAM1 NTPase protein family, is found in the cytoplasm and acts as a homodimer. Defects in the encoded protein can result in inosine triphosphate pyrophosphorylase deficiency which causes an accumulation of ITP in red blood cells. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
