The HLA-G Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7557) is a valuable tool for researchers studying HLA-G, a protein involved in immune regulation and tolerance. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the HLA-G protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of HLA-G expression in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in immunology and transplantation research.
HLA-G is a key player in immune response modulation, particularly in the context of immune tolerance and the prevention of immune rejection. Its role in regulating the immune system makes it a promising target for research into conditions such as organ transplantation, autoimmune diseases, and pregnancy-related disorders. Understanding the function of HLA-G is essential for developing new therapeutic strategies that manipulate immune responses in these diseases.

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane. HLA-G is expressed on fetal derived placental cells. The heavy chain is approximately 45 kDa and its gene contains 8 exons. Exon one encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the alpha1 and alpha2 domain, which both bind the peptide, exon 4 encodes the alpha3 domain, exon 5 encodes the transmembrane region, and exon 6 encodes the cytoplasmic tail.
