The GenieFluor 488 Anti-Mouse CD18 Antibody (M18/2) is a powerful tool designed for the detection and analysis of the CD18 protein in mouse samples. This antibody, developed by Assay Genie, offers high reactivity and specificity for CD18, a crucial cell surface molecule involved in immune cell adhesion and migration.CD18, also known as integrin beta-2, plays a key role in various immune processes, including leukocyte trafficking and activation. Dysregulation of CD18 expression or function has been associated with inflammatory disorders, autoimmune diseases, and impaired immune responses. By targeting CD18, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify therapeutic targets.
The GenieFluor 488 Anti-Mouse CD18 Antibody (M18/2) is an essential tool for immunology and inflammation research, enabling the visualization and quantification of CD18 expression in different cell types and tissues. With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody offers reliable results in techniques such as flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry, paving the way for advancements in understanding immune system dynamics and disease pathology in preclinical and translational studies.

Background:
CD18 is a 95 kD protein, also known as integrin β2 subunit. It is expressed on all leukocytes. CD18, in association with integrin α chain CD11a, CD11b, and CD11c forms LFA-1, Mac-1, and αXβ2, respectively, and plays an important role in leukocytes adhesion. The CD18 integrin complexes bind ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-3 (CD50), iC3b, and fibrinogen.
