The CYP11B1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15046) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the CYP11B1 enzyme, which is involved in the biosynthesis of steroid hormones such as cortisol and aldosterone. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. The CYP11B1 enzyme is crucial for the production of essential steroid hormones that regulate various physiological processes, including metabolism, immune response, and stress adaptation. Dysregulation of CYP11B1 activity has been linked to diseases such as adrenal tumors, hypertension, and hormonal imbalance disorders.
By using the CYP11B1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze the expression levels of the CYP11B1 enzyme in different cell types, leading to a better understanding of its role in hormone biosynthesis and potential implications in disease pathology. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in endocrinology, metabolism, and hormone-related disorders, providing insights that could lead to the development of new therapeutic strategies targeting the CYP11B1 enzyme.

Human
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 234-503 of human CYP11B1 (NP_000488.3).
This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the mitochondrial inner membrane and is involved in the conversion of progesterone to cortisol in the adrenal cortex. Mutations in this gene cause congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to 11-beta-hydroxylase deficiency. Transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.
