The Anti-Dysferlin Romeo Antibody (CAB19572) is a high-quality research tool designed for studying dysferlin, a protein involved in muscle membrane repair. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbits, shows strong reactivity with dysferlin in human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. It specifically binds to dysferlin, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types.Dysferlin is a key player in muscle regeneration and maintenance, making it a focus of research in muscular dystrophies and neuromuscular disorders.
Mutations in the dysferlin gene can lead to impaired muscle membrane repair and muscle wasting, highlighting the importance of studying dysferlin function and regulation. The Anti-Dysferlin Romeo Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating dysferlin-related mechanisms and developing potential therapies for muscle diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ferlin family and is a skeletal muscle protein found associated with the sarcolemma. It is involved in muscle contraction and contains C2 domains that play a role in calcium-mediated membrane fusion events, suggesting that it may be involved in membrane regeneration and repair. In addition, the protein encoded by this gene binds caveolin-3, a skeletal muscle membrane protein which is important in the formation of caveolae. Specific mutations in this gene have been shown to cause autosomal recessive limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B (LGMD2B) as well as Miyoshi myopathy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
