The Anti-Desmocollin 3 Antibody (CAB0445) is a highly specific tool for research involving Desmocollin 3, a cell adhesion molecule found in desmosomes. This antibody, derived from rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in various applications including Western blotting and immunofluorescence.Desmocollin 3 plays a critical role in maintaining cell-cell adhesion and tissue integrity in epithelial cells. Dysregulation of Desmocollin 3 has been linked to various skin disorders, autoimmune diseases, and cancers.
By using the Anti-Desmocollin 3 Antibody, researchers can study the expression levels and localization of Desmocollin 3 in different cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into its function and potential implications in disease pathology. Overall, the Anti-Desmocollin 3 Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the role of Desmocollin 3 in various biological processes and diseases, making it a valuable asset for researchers in the fields of dermatology, immunology, and oncology.

The protein encoded by this gene is a calcium-dependent glycoprotein that is a member of the desmocollin subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. These desmosomal family members, along with the desmogleins, are found primarily in epithelial cells where they constitute the adhesive proteins of the desmosome cell-cell junction and are required for cell adhesion and desmosome formation. The desmosomal family members are arranged in two clusters on chromosome 18, occupying less than 650 kb combined. Mutations in this gene are a cause of hypotrichosis and recurrent skin vesicles disorder. The protein can act as an autoantigen in pemphigus diseases, and it is also considered to be a biomarker for some cancers. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
