The PTPRG Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14253) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PTPRG, a protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor involved in cell signaling and regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. It specifically binds to the PTPRG protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in various cell types.PTPRG is known for its role in modulating cell growth, differentiation, and adhesion through dephosphorylation of target proteins. Dysregulation of PTPRG has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders.
By investigating the function and expression of PTPRG using this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its involvement in these pathologies and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets.Overall, the PTPRG Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in cell signaling, cancer biology, and neurobiology. Its specificity and reliability make it a preferred choice for scientists seeking to unravel the complexities of PTPRG's role in health and disease.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. The extracellular region of this PTP contains a carbonic anhydrase-like (CAH) domain, which is also found in the extracellular region of PTPRBETA/ZETA. This gene is located in a chromosomal region that is frequently deleted in renal cell carcinoma and lung carcinoma, thus is thought to be a candidate tumor suppressor gene.
