The Rat CD44H Monoclonal Antibody (OX-49) is a powerful tool for researchers studying CD44H, a cell surface glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and migration. This antibody, produced through the hybridoma technology, specifically targets the rat CD44H antigen and is suitable for various applications such as flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.CD44H is a key player in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, holding significance in processes like lymphocyte homing, wound healing, and cancer metastasis. By using the Rat CD44H Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the expression and distribution of CD44H in rat tissues and cell lines, aiding in the understanding of its role in physiological and pathological conditions.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody provides reliable results in experimental settings focusing on cell adhesion, migration, and signaling pathways involving CD44H. Researchers exploring areas such as immunology, oncology, and regenerative medicine will find the Rat CD44H Monoclonal Antibody to be a valuable asset in their research endeavors.

Background:
CD44 is an 80-95 kD cell surface glycoprotein. It is expressed on all leukocytes, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, and mesenchymal cells. It is up-regulated when T cells and B cells are activated. It was reported that CD44 is a valuable marker for memory T cells. CD44 is an adhesion molecule involved in leukocyte adhesion and homing to lymphoid organs. The OX-49 antibody reacts with CD44H (known as CD44s) expressed on most leukocytes, except for a subset of B lymphocytes. The epitope recognized by OX-49 antibody has been mapped to a region on both the standard, CD44s, and the splice variant, CD44v, isoforms of CD44. However it was reported that OX-49 antibody cannot detect the CD44V isoform, possibly due to conformational changes in the epitope.
