The PE Anti-Human/Mouse KLRG-1 Antibody (2F1) offered by AssayGenie (AGEL3108) is a specialized tool for researchers investigating the immune system and immunology. This antibody is targeted towards the KLRG-1 protein, a cell surface receptor involved in immune responses and the regulation of immune cell function.KLRG-1, also known as killer cell lectin-like receptor subfamily G member 1, is a marker of T cell differentiation and senescence. By binding specifically to KLRG-1, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of KLRG-1 expressing cells in both human and mouse samples. This feature makes it a valuable asset in studies focused on understanding T cell function, differentiation, and exhaustion.
The PE Anti-Human/Mouse KLRG-1 Antibody (2F1) is validated for use in flow cytometry applications, allowing for precise quantification and characterization of KLRG-1 expressing cells within a sample. This antibody's high specificity and reactivity make it a reliable tool for researchers exploring immune responses, immunotherapy, and immune cell modulation in various disease contexts.Overall, the PE Anti-Human/Mouse KLRG-1 Antibody (2F1) provides researchers with a powerful instrument to dissect the role of KLRG-1 in immune regulation, making it an essential reagent for studies in immunology, cancer research, and autoimmune disorders.

Background:
Killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 (KLRG1) is the mouse homolog of the rat mast cell function-associated antigen (MAFA or 2F1-Ag). KLRG1 is a type II membrane glycoprotein that was first identified on the surface of rat mast cell line RBL-2H3. It is composed of a homodimer of glycosylated 30-38 kD subunits. Mouse and human homologs of KLRG1 are expressed by subsets of NK cells and lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells but not mast cells. KLRG1 is also expressed on subsets of CD8+ and CD4+ cells, including CD4+ and CD8+ effector/memory cells, potent regulatory CD4+ T cells. KLRG1 may be involved in regulating NK cell homeostasis. KLRG5 was found to recognize cadherins and thus inhibit immune responses by regulating the effector function and the developmental processes of NK and T cells.
