Description
Gonorrhea Monoclonal Antibody [NYRGon] (CPAB0473)
The Gonorrhea Antibody (CPAB0473) offered by AssayGenie is a valuable tool for researchers studying gonorrhea, a common sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. This polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbits and is highly specific for detecting the presence of antigens related to gonorrhea in samples from infected individuals. With its high reactivity towards gonorrhea antigens, this antibody is ideal for use in various immunoassays, including ELISA and immunofluorescence, allowing for accurate and sensitive detection of the bacterium.
Researchers can use this antibody to study the pathogenesis of gonorrhea, investigate immune responses to the infection, and develop diagnostic tools for detecting Neisseria gonorrhoeae.By providing a reliable and specific tool for studying gonorrhea, the CPAB0473 antibody from AssayGenie is a valuable resource for researchers aiming to better understand and combat this prevalent and evolving public health concern.

Background: | Neisseria gonorrhoeae, also known as Gonococci is a Gram-negativebacteriahighly fastidiouscocci, requiring nutrient supplementation to survive. The cocci are facultatively intracellular and typically appear in pairs (diplococci). Neisserial LPS is distinguished from enteric LPS by its highly-branched basal oligosaccharide structure and the absence of repeating O-antigen subunits. For these reasons, neisserial LPS is referred to as lipooligosaccharide (LOS). The bacterium characteristically releases outer membrane fragments called "blebs" during growth. These blebs contain LOS and probably have a role in pathogenesis if they are disseminated during the course of an infection. Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a relatively fragile organism, susceptible to temperature changes, drying, uv light, and other environmental conditions. Strains of N. gonorrhoeae are variable in their cultural requirements so that media containing hemoglobin, NAD, yeast extract and other supplements are needed for isolation and growth of the organism. |
