The Vitamin D3 Receptor Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2194) is a highly specific research tool designed for studying the Vitamin D3 receptor, a crucial regulator of gene transcription and cellular processes. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot experiments. The Vitamin D3 receptor plays a pivotal role in mediating the effects of Vitamin D, a vital nutrient with diverse physiological functions ranging from bone health to immune system regulation. By targeting the Vitamin D3 receptor, researchers can investigate its involvement in various cellular pathways and diseases, including cancer, osteoporosis, and autoimmune disorders.
This antibody enables the detection and analysis of the Vitamin D3 receptor in different cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, endocrinology, and cancer research. Understanding the mechanisms underlying Vitamin D3 receptor activation and signaling is essential for developing novel therapies and interventions targeting Vitamin D-related pathways.

This gene encodes vitamin D3 receptor, which is a member of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily of ligand-inducible transcription factors. This receptor also functions as a receptor for the secondary bile acid, lithocholic acid. Downstream targets of vitamin D3 receptor are principally involved in mineral metabolism, though this receptor regulates a variety of other metabolic pathways, such as those involved in immune response and cancer. Mutations in this gene are associated with type II vitamin D-resistant rickets. A single nucleotide polymorphism in the initiation codon results in an alternate translation start site three codons downstream. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. A recent study provided evidence for translational readthrough in this gene, and expression of an additional C-terminally extended isoform via the use of an alternative in-frame translation termination codon.
