The VIP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12531) is a highly specific research tool designed for the study of VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide), a neuropeptide with various physiological functions, including immune modulation and neurotransmission. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is optimized for detection of VIP in human samples and is validated for use in applications such as Western blotting.VIP is known for its role in regulating immune responses, inflammation, and relaxation of smooth muscles.
Its functions in the nervous and immune systems make it an important target for research in neuroimmunology, gastrointestinal disorders, and inflammatory conditions. The VIP Polyclonal Antibody binds specifically to VIP, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types and tissues, making it a valuable tool for researchers studying VIP's involvement in health and disease.
Product Name:
VIP Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB12531
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 31-170 of human VIP (NP_003372.1).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glucagon family. It stimulates myocardial contractility, causes vasodilation, increases glycogenolysis, lowers arterial blood pressure and relaxes the smooth muscle of trachea, stomach and gall bladder. The protein also acts as an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal activity. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
