The VIP Peptides Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1804) is a valuable tool for researchers studying VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide), a neuropeptide with diverse physiological functions including immune regulation, inflammation modulation, and neurotransmission. This high-quality antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.VIP is known for its role in mediating immune responses, neuroprotection, and gastrointestinal functions. The VIP Polyclonal Antibody binds specifically to the VIP peptide, enabling precise detection and analysis in various cell types.
Its application in immunology and neuroscience research makes it ideal for studies investigating VIP's involvement in conditions such as autoimmune diseases, neurological disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders. With its ability to target VIP, a key regulator of immune and neuronal functions, the VIP Peptides Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1804) opens up new possibilities for understanding the mechanisms underlying various physiological and pathological processes. Researchers can use this antibody to uncover the intricate roles of VIP in health and disease, paving the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-169 of human VIP (NP_919416.1).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glucagon family. It stimulates myocardial contractility, causes vasodilation, increases glycogenolysis, lowers arterial blood pressure and relaxes the smooth muscle of trachea, stomach and gall bladder. The protein also acts as an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal activity. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
