The VGF Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14795) is a crucial tool for researchers studying the role of VGF, a neuropeptide involved in various physiological processes such as energy metabolism, synaptic plasticity, and neuroprotection. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in immunohistochemistry and western blot applications.VGF, also known as nerve growth factor inducible protein VGF, is a key player in the neuronal signaling pathways that regulate mood, cognition, and stress responses. Dysregulation of VGF has been implicated in psychiatric disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic disorders, making it a promising target for drug development and therapeutic interventions.
By using the VGF Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and quantify VGF expression in different cell types and tissues, enabling a deeper understanding of its physiological functions and exploring its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in various disease states. This antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in neuroscience, endocrinology, and drug discovery.
Product Name:
VGF Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB14795
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 466-615 of human VGF (NP_003369.2).
This gene is specifically expressed in a subpopulation of neuroendocrine cells, and is upregulated by nerve growth factor. The structural organization of this gene is similar to that of the rat gene, and both the translated and the untranslated regions show a high degree of sequence similarity to the rat gene. The encoded secretory protein also shares similarities with the secretogranin/chromogranin family, however, its exact function is not known.
