The VCP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2795) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Valosin-Containing Protein (VCP), a key player in protein homeostasis and cellular quality control mechanisms. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for VCP in human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.VCP, also known as p97, is involved in various cellular processes including protein degradation, DNA repair, and cell cycle regulation. Dysregulation of VCP has been linked to neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and rare genetic disorders.
By targeting VCP with this antibody, researchers can investigate its role in disease pathogenesis and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.Overall, the VCP Polyclonal Antibody is a versatile tool for scientists conducting research in cell biology, neurology, and oncology. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an excellent choice for detecting VCP in various cell types and advancing our understanding of its function in health and disease.
Product Name:
VCP Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB2795
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 460-770 of human VCP (NP_009057.1).
This gene encodes a member of the AAA ATPase family of proteins. The encoded protein plays a role in protein degradation, intracellular membrane fusion, DNA repair and replication, regulation of the cell cycle, and activation of the NF-kappa B pathway. This protein forms a homohexameric complex that interacts with a variety of cofactors and extracts ubiquitinated proteins from lipid membranes or protein complexes. Mutations in this gene cause IBMPFD (inclusion body myopathy with paget disease of bone and frontotemporal dementia), ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in human patients.
