The UPK3B Polyclonal Antibody is a research tool designed for the study of UPK3B, a protein involved in the regulation of uroplakin assembly in bladder epithelial cells. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the UPK3B protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an invaluable tool for research in urology, cell biology, and related fields.UPK3B plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the bladder epithelium and is essential for forming urothelial plaques that protect against urine toxicity.
Dysregulation of UPK3B expression has been implicated in various bladder disorders, including interstitial cystitis and bladder cancer. Studying UPK3B with this antibody can provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions, potentially leading to the development of targeted therapies for bladder-related diseases.

UPK3B is a minor component of the apical plaques of mammalian urothelium that binds and dimerizes with uroplakin-1b (UPK1B; MIM 602380), one of the major conserved urothelium membrane proteins. The other major conserved integral membrane proteins of urothelial plaques are UPK1A (MIM 611557), UPK2 (MIM 611558), and UPK3A (MIM 611559) (Deng et al., 2002 [PubMed 12446744]).
