The UPF2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7091) is a valuable tool for researchers studying UPF2, a key protein involved in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) pathway. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the UPF2 protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze UPF2 expression in a variety of cell types, making it particularly useful for studies related to RNA biology and gene regulation.UPF2 is a critical player in NMD, a quality control mechanism that ensures the degradation of aberrant mRNA transcripts and regulates gene expression.
Dysregulation of the NMD pathway has been linked to various human diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders. Therefore, investigating the function of UPF2 is essential for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions and identifying potential therapeutic targets.Overall, the UPF2 Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the role of UPF2 in cellular processes and disease pathology, ultimately advancing our knowledge of RNA biology and gene regulation.

This gene encodes a protein that is part of a post-splicing multiprotein complex involved in both mRNA nuclear export and mRNA surveillance. mRNA surveillance detects exported mRNAs with truncated open reading frames and initiates nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). When translation ends upstream from the last exon-exon junction, this triggers NMD to degrade mRNAs containing premature stop codons. This protein is located in the perinuclear area. It interacts with translation release factors and the proteins that are functional homologs of yeast Upf1p and Upf3p. Two splice variants have been found for this gene; both variants encode the same protein.
