The UPF1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1521) is specifically designed for research involving UPF1, a key player in RNA metabolism and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) processes. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. By binding to the UPF1 protein, the antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in molecular biology and gene regulation.UPF1 is a crucial component of the NMD pathway, which serves as a quality control mechanism for mRNA surveillance by degrading aberrant transcripts.
Dysregulation of UPF1 has been implicated in human diseases such as cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders, and genetic conditions. Understanding the role of UPF1 in RNA surveillance is vital for uncovering novel therapeutic targets and mechanisms underlying disease pathology.Overall, the UPF1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1521) provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the functions of UPF1 in RNA metabolism and NMD pathways, offering valuable insights into gene expression regulation and disease mechanisms.

This gene encodes a protein that is part of a post-splicing multiprotein complex involved in both mRNA nuclear export and mRNA surveillance. mRNA surveillance detects exported mRNAs with truncated open reading frames and initiates nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). When translation ends upstream from the last exon-exon junction, this triggers NMD to degrade mRNAs containing premature stop codons. This protein is located only in the cytoplasm. When translation ends, it interacts with the protein that is a functional homolog of yeast Upf2p to trigger mRNA decapping. Use of multiple polyadenylation sites has been noted for this gene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
