Description
UCN Antibody (PACO05278)
The UCN Monoclonal Antibody (PACO05278) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Urocanate Hydrolase (UCN), an enzyme involved in the metabolism of histidine and the production of urocanic acid. This antibody, derived from a mouse hybridoma, is highly specific for UCN and is suitable for applications such as immunohistochemistry and ELISA.UCN is a key enzyme in the histidine degradation pathway and plays a role in the skin's response to UV exposure.
Research on UCN is important for understanding its function in skin physiology and diseases related to UV radiation, such as skin cancer and photodermatoses. The UCN Monoclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for investigating the expression and localization of UCN in various tissues and cell types, making it a valuable resource for studies in dermatology and skin biology.

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I family. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature peptide, an endogenous ligand for both corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 1 and corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 2. In the brain this peptide may be responsible for the effects of stress on appetite. This peptide may also play a role in mood disorders, neurodegeneration, and skeletal system disorders. In spite of the gene family name similarity, the product of this gene has no sequence similarity to urotensin-2. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016] |
