The Twist Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying Twist, a transcription factor involved in controlling cell differentiation and development. This antibody is raised in rabbits and exhibits high reactivity with human samples, making it suitable for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the Twist protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in developmental biology, cancer research, and stem cell biology.Twist, also known as Twist1, plays a critical role in regulating cellular processes such as EMT (epithelial-mesenchymal transition) and is associated with tumor progression and metastasis in various cancers.
Understanding the functions and mechanisms of Twist is essential for uncovering its role in tumor development and progression, as well as in embryonic development and stem cell maintenance. The Twist Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers aiming to elucidate the complex functions of Twist and its implications in various physiological and pathological processes.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 51-150 of human Twist (NP_000465.1).
This gene encodes a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that plays an important role in embryonic development. The encoded protein forms both homodimers and heterodimers that bind to DNA E box sequences and regulate the transcription of genes involved in cranial suture closure during skull development. This protein may also regulate neural tube closure, limb development and brown fat metabolism. This gene is hypermethylated and overexpressed in multiple human cancers, and the encoded protein promotes tumor cell invasion and metastasis, as well as metastatic recurrence. Mutations in this gene cause Saethre-Chotzen syndrome in human patients, which is characterized by craniosynostosis, ptosis and hypertelorism.
