The TRIOBP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB4485) is a valuable tool for researchers studying TRIOBP, a protein involved in maintaining the structural integrity of hair cells in the inner ear. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for detecting TRIOBP in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the TRIOBP protein, researchers can analyze its expression and function in various cell types, providing insights into its role in auditory function and potential implications for hearing disorders.
TRIOBP, also known as TRIO and F-actin Binding Protein, is essential for organizing the actin cytoskeleton in hair cells, crucial for their mechanical support and sensory function. Mutations in the TRIOBP gene have been linked to hearing loss and balance disorders, making it a valuable target for research in the field of auditory biology. Understanding the function of TRIOBP may lead to novel therapeutic strategies for treating hearing-related conditions and improving quality of life for affected individuals.
Product Name:
TRIOBP Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB4485
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 180-310 of human TRIOBP (NP_008963.3).
This gene encodes a protein with an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a C-terminal coiled-coil region. The protein interacts with trio, which is involved with neural tissue development and controlling actin cytoskeleton organization, cell motility and cell growth. The protein also associates with F-actin and stabilizes F-actin structures. Mutations in this gene have been associated with a form of autosomal recessive nonsyndromic deafness. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that would encode different isoforms have been found for this gene, however some transcripts may be subject to nonsense-mediated decay (NMD).
