Description
TRIM3 Antibody (PACO55034)
The TRIM3 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC055034) is a valuable tool for researchers studying TRIM3, an E3 ubiquitin ligase protein involved in various cellular processes, including protein degradation and immune response regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the TRIM3 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in immunology, neurobiology, and cancer research.
TRIM3 is known to play a role in protein degradation pathways and cellular homeostasis, making it a key player in the regulation of immune responses and inflammatory signaling. Its involvement in these processes highlights its potential as a therapeutic target for diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and autoimmune conditions. By studying the function of TRIM3, researchers can gain valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases and pave the way for the development of novel treatment strategies.

Background: | Probably involved in vesicular trafficking via its association with the CART complex. The CART complex is necessary for efficient transferrin receptor recycling but not for EGFR degradation. Positively regulates motility of microtubule-dependent motor protein KIF21B (By similarity). |
Synonyms: | Tripartite motif-containing protein 3 (Brain-expressed RING finger protein) (RING finger protein 22) (RING finger protein 97), TRIM3, BERP RNF22 RNF97 |
UniProt Protein Function: | TRIM3: Probably involved in vesicular trafficking via its association with the CART complex. The CART complex is necessary for efficient transferrin receptor recycling but not for EGFR degradation. Belongs to the TRIM/RBCC family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, also called the 'RING-B-box-coiled-coil' (RBCC) subgroup of RING finger proteins. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. This protein localizes to cytoplasmic filaments. It is similar to a rat protein which is a specific partner for the tail domain of myosin V, a class of myosins which are involved in the targeted transport of organelles. The rat protein can also interact with alpha-actinin-4. Thus it is suggested that this human protein may play a role in myosin V-mediated cargo transport. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
