Description
Tri-Methyl-Histone H3 (Lys4) Antibody (PACO00179)
The Tri-Methyl Histone H3 Lys4 Antibody (PACO00179) is a high-quality antibody designed for research involving epigenetics and chromatin modification. This antibody, raised in rabbits, specifically targets the tri-methylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me3), an important histone modification associated with active gene transcription. The antibody is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting and immunofluorescence.
By binding to and detecting H3K4me3, researchers can study the role of this histone modification in gene regulation, cellular differentiation, and development. The Tri-Methyl Histone H3 Lys4 Antibody (PACO00179) is an essential tool for studies in epigenetics, cancer research, and developmental biology. Understanding the dynamics of histone modifications like H3K4me3 is crucial for unraveling the complexity of gene regulation and uncovering potential targets for therapeutic interventions.

UniProt Protein Function: | H3: Core component of nucleosome. Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling. The nucleosome is a histone octamer containing two molecules each of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 assembled in one H3-H4 heterotetramer and two H2A-H2B heterodimers. The octamer wraps approximately 147 bp of DNA. Belongs to the histone H3 family. |

NCBI Summary: | Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a replication-dependent histone that is a member of the histone H3 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails but instead contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the small histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3.
