The TNFSF11 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17025) is a valuable tool for researchers studying TNFSF11, a cytokine involved in bone remodeling and immune regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for detecting TNFSF11 in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to TNFSF11, this antibody enables the precise detection and analysis of TNFSF11 expression in a variety of cell types, making it essential for studies in bone biology, immunology, and cancer research.TNFSF11, also known as RANKL, is a key regulator of osteoclast differentiation and function, playing a crucial role in bone metabolism and the development of bone-related diseases such as osteoporosis and bone cancer.
Additionally, TNFSF11 is involved in immune regulation, making it a potential target for therapeutic interventions in autoimmune diseases and cancer. Through understanding the function and activity of TNFSF11, researchers can uncover new insights into bone health and immune system regulation, ultimately leading to the development of novel treatments for these complex conditions.

This gene encodes a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family which is a ligand for osteoprotegerin and functions as a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation. This protein was shown to be a dentritic cell survival factor and is involved in the regulation of T cell-dependent immune response. T cell activation was reported to induce expression of this gene and lead to an increase of osteoclastogenesis and bone loss. This protein was shown to activate antiapoptotic kinase AKT/PKB through a signaling complex involving SRC kinase and tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor (TRAF) 6, which indicated this protein may have a role in the regulation of cell apoptosis. Targeted disruption of the related gene in mice led to severe osteopetrosis and a lack of osteoclasts. The deficient mice exhibited defects in early differentiation of T and B lymphocytes, and failed to form lobulo-alveolar mammary structures during pregnancy. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found.
