The TNFRSF11B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2100) is specifically designed for research involving TNFRSF11B, also known as OPG (Osteoprotegerin). This cell surface protein plays a crucial role in regulating bone metabolism by inhibiting osteoclast differentiation and activation. The antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for Western blot applications, allowing for precise detection and analysis of TNFRSF11B in various cell types. Its utility in immunology and bone research makes it an essential tool for studying diseases such as osteoporosis, osteosarcoma, and other bone-related disorders.
Understanding the function of TNFRSF11B is essential for developing targeted therapies that aim to regulate bone resorption and maintain skeletal health. By exploring the role of TNFRSF11B in bone metabolism, researchers can uncover novel insights into pathological conditions affecting bone density and strength, paving the way for innovative treatment strategies in the field of skeletal disorders.

Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 22-280 of human TNFRSF11B (NP_002537.3).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This protein is an osteoblast-secreted decoy receptor that functions as a negative regulator of bone resorption. This protein specifically binds to its ligand, osteoprotegerin ligand, both of which are key extracellular regulators of osteoclast development. Studies of the mouse counterpart also suggest that this protein and its ligand play a role in lymph-node organogenesis and vascular calcification. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported, but their full length nature has not been determined.
