The TIMP2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16439) is a specialized tool for researchers studying Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase 2 (TIMP2), a crucial protein involved in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue repair processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity in detecting TIMP2 in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications.TIMP2 is a key regulator of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), enzymes that play essential roles in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and angiogenesis. Aberrant TIMP2 levels have been linked to various pathologies, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer metastasis, and neurological disorders.
By targeting TIMP2, researchers can gain valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets. With its ability to specifically detect TIMP2, the CAB16439 antibody opens up new opportunities for investigating the role of TIMP2 in physiological and pathological processes. Whether studying tissue repair mechanisms or exploring therapeutic interventions, this antibody provides a reliable tool for researchers looking to unravel the complex biology of TIMP2.

This gene is a member of the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. In addition to an inhibitory role against metalloproteinases, the encoded protein has a unique role among TIMP family members in its ability to directly suppress the proliferation of endothelial cells. As a result, the encoded protein may be critical to the maintenance of tissue homeostasis by suppressing the proliferation of quiescent tissues in response to angiogenic factors, and by inhibiting protease activity in tissues undergoing remodelling of the extracellular matrix.
