The TIM-3 (HAVCR2) Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17231) is an essential tool for researchers studying TIM-3, a cell surface protein involved in the regulation of immune responses. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the TIM-3 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in the fields of immunology and cancer research.TIM-3, also known as T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain containing-3, is a crucial checkpoint molecule that modulates immune responses.
It is implicated in the regulation of T cell function and is a key player in immune tolerance and exhaustion. Understanding the role of TIM-3 is essential for unraveling its potential as a therapeutic target in immune-related diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions. The TIM-3 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers aiming to explore the intricate mechanisms of immune regulation and develop novel therapeutics in this area.

Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 22-202 of human TIM-3/HAVCR2 (NP_116171.3).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily, and TIM family of proteins. CD4-positive T helper lymphocytes can be divided into types 1 (Th1) and 2 (Th2) on the basis of their cytokine secretion patterns. Th1 cells are involved in cell-mediated immunity to intracellular pathogens and delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions, whereas, Th2 cells are involved in the control of extracellular helminthic infections and the promotion of atopic and allergic diseases. This protein is a Th1-specific cell surface protein that regulates macrophage activation, and inhibits Th1-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses, and promotes immunological tolerance.
