Sean Mac Fhearraigh PhD - Assay Genie CSO

Sean Mac Fhearraigh, PhD, is a co-founder of Assay Genie and currently serves as its Chief Scientific Officer. With a background in Genetics, Sean completed his undergraduate studies at Trinity College Dublin and earned his PhD from University College Dublin. He further advanced his expertise during a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge, where he focused on cell cycle regulation and cancer biology. Sean has published extensively in the areas of cell death, phosphorylation, and mitotic regulation.

Sean is a proud father of two, a passionate runner, and an avid reader. In 2017, Sean co-founded Assay Genie with Colm, turning their vision into reality and building the company from the ground up. When he's not leading Assay Genie as our Chief Scientific Officer, you’ll find him out for a run or diving into his latest book. A true testament to his drive, Sean has completed an Ironman and several triathlons. 
 
Fun fact: Sean once met Conan O'Brien outside the Assay Genie office.
