The TCP1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13364) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the TCP1 protein, a key component of the TCP1 ring complex (TRiC) involved in protein folding and assembly. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. The TCP1 antibody binds specifically to the TCP1 protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types. Its application in research extends to studies in molecular biology, protein folding mechanisms, and cellular stress responses. By targeting TCP1, researchers can gain insights into fundamental biological processes and potentially uncover new therapeutic strategies for diseases related to protein misfolding and aggregation.
The TCP1 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for advancing knowledge in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, and neurodegenerative diseases where protein folding defects play a crucial role. Its ability to accurately detect TCP1 protein levels makes it an essential reagent for scientists aiming to unravel the complex mechanisms of protein quality control and cellular homeostasis.

The protein encoded by this gene is a molecular chaperone that is a member of the chaperonin containing TCP1 complex (CCT), also known as the TCP1 ring complex (TRiC). This complex consists of two identical stacked rings, each containing eight different proteins. Unfolded polypeptides enter the central cavity of the complex and are folded in an ATP-dependent manner. The complex folds various proteins, including actin and tubulin. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. In addition, three pseudogenes that appear to be derived from this gene have been found.
