Description
TAF4B Antibody (PACO59317)
The TAF4B Monoclonal Antibody (PACO59317) is a valuable tool for researchers studying transcription regulation and gene expression. This antibody, developed against TAF4B, a key component of the transcription factor IID (TFIID) complex, is highly specific and sensitive for detecting TAF4B protein levels in human samples. Validated for use in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry applications, this antibody enables the visualization and analysis of TAF4B in various cell types and tissues.
TAF4B is essential for the assembly of the TFIID complex, which plays a critical role in the initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Dysregulation of TAF4B expression has been linked to abnormal gene expression patterns and various disease states, including cancer. By studying the function and regulation of TAF4B, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying transcriptional control and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for cancer and other diseases.

![]() | IHC image of PACO59317 diluted at 1:500 and staining in paraffin-embedded human lung cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |
![]() | Immunofluorescence staining of A549 cells with PACO59317 at 1:166, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). |
Background: | Cell type-specific subunit of the general transcription factor TFIID that may function as a gene-selective coactivator in certain cells. TFIID is a multimeric protein complex that plays a central role in mediating promoter responses to various activators and repressors. TAF4B is a transcriptional coactivator of the p65/RELA NF-kappa-B subunit. Involved in the activation of a subset of antiapoptotic genes including TNFAIP3. May be involved in regulating folliculogenesis. Through interaction with OCBA/POU2AF1, acts as a coactivator of B-cell-specific transcription. Plays a role in spermiogenesis and oogenesis. |
Synonyms: | Transcription initiation factor TFIID subunit 4B (Transcription initiation factor TFIID 105 kDa subunit) (TAF(II)105) (TAFII-105) (TAFII105), TAF4B, TAF2C2 TAFII105 |

NCBI Summary: | TATA binding protein (TBP) and TBP-associated factors (TAFs) participate in the formation of the TFIID protein complex, which is involved in initiation of transcription of genes by RNA polymerase II. This gene encodes a cell type-specific TAF that may be responsible for mediating transcription by a subset of activators in B cells. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014] |
