The Syntenin Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB5497) is a valuable tool for researchers studying syntenin, a protein involved in various cellular functions such as cell adhesion, migration, and signaling pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, specifically binds to the syntenin protein in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.Syntenin is a key player in cell biology, interacting with numerous proteins to regulate processes like cell migration and invasion. Its dysregulation has been linked to cancer progression, making it a promising target for cancer research. By using the Syntenin Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and analyze syntenin expression in different cell types, providing insights into its role in cancer development and metastasis.
Furthermore, understanding the function of syntenin may also have implications in other fields such as neuroscience, where it has been implicated in synaptic plasticity and neuronal development. By utilizing this antibody, researchers can further elucidate the role of syntenin in various physiological and pathological processes, paving the way for potential therapeutic interventions in cancer and other diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene was initially identified as a molecule linking syndecan-mediated signaling to the cytoskeleton. The syntenin protein contains tandemly repeated PDZ domains that bind the cytoplasmic, C-terminal domains of a variety of transmembrane proteins. This protein may also affect cytoskeletal-membrane organization, cell adhesion, protein trafficking, and the activation of transcription factors. The protein is primarily localized to membrane-associated adherens junctions and focal adhesions but is also found at the endoplasmic reticulum and nucleus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Related pseudogenes have been identified on multiple chromosomes.
