The Syndecan-1 (CD138) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB4174) is a versatile tool for researchers studying Syndecan-1, a cell surface proteoglycan involved in cell adhesion and signaling. This antibody, developed using rabbit monoclonal technology, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for human samples, making it ideal for use in immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry applications. Syndecan-1, also known as CD138, is commonly expressed in epithelial and plasma cells, and is implicated in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation. Its dysregulation has been linked to various diseases, such as cancer and inflammation, making it a valuable target for therapeutic interventions.
By targeting Syndecan-1 with this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its role in disease pathogenesis and potentially identify new treatment strategies.Overall, the Syndecan-1 (CD138) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB4174) is a valuable tool for investigating the function of Syndecan-1 in different cell types and disease contexts, providing researchers with the means to advance our understanding of this important cell surface molecule.

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane (type I) heparan sulfate proteoglycan and is a member of the syndecan proteoglycan family. The syndecans mediate cell binding, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization and syndecan receptors are required for internalization of the HIV-1 tat protein. The syndecan-1 protein functions as an integral membrane protein and participates in cell proliferation, cell migration and cell-matrix interactions via its receptor for extracellular matrix proteins. Altered syndecan-1 expression has been detected in several different tumor types. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length natures of only two have been described to date. These two represent the major variants of this gene and encode the same protein.
