The SUMO2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2571) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the SUMO2 protein, a member of the small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) family that is involved in post-translational modification of proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it suitable for use in a variety of experimental techniques such as Western blotting.SUMO2 plays a critical role in regulating various cellular processes, including protein stability, localization, and interaction. Dysregulation of SUMO2 has been implicated in diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and viral infections.
By targeting SUMO2 with this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its functions and potential therapeutic applications in these disease contexts. With its ability to detect and quantify SUMO2 in different cell types and tissues, the SUMO2 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for immunology, cell biology, and molecular biology studies focusing on protein modifications and their impact on cellular pathways. Its versatility and reliability make it a valuable asset for researchers seeking to unravel the complexities of SUMO2-mediated signaling pathways.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-95 of human SUMO2/3 (NP_008868.3).
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) protein family. It functions in a manner similar to ubiquitin in that it is bound to target proteins as part of a post-translational modification system. However, unlike ubiquitin which targets proteins for degradation, this protein is involved in a variety of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. It is not active until the last two amino acids of the carboxy-terminus have been cleaved off. Numerous pseudogenes have been reported for this gene. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
