The SUMO2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1523) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the SUMO2 protein, a small ubiquitin-like modifier that plays a crucial role in the regulation of various cellular processes, including protein degradation, DNA repair, and transcriptional regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.SUMO2 is a key player in the SUMOylation process, where it covalently attaches to target proteins to modify their function, localization, or stability. Dysregulation of SUMOylation has been implicated in numerous diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and viral infections, making SUMO2 an important target for therapeutic intervention.
By specifically binding to SUMO2, this polyclonal antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze the expression of SUMO2 in various cell types, providing valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying SUMOylation and its impact on cellular physiology. Its versatility and reliability make it an essential tool for investigations in molecular biology, cell biology, and disease research.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-95 of human SUMO2/3 (NP_008868.3).
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) protein family. It functions in a manner similar to ubiquitin in that it is bound to target proteins as part of a post-translational modification system. However, unlike ubiquitin which targets proteins for degradation, this protein is involved in a variety of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. It is not active until the last two amino acids of the carboxy-terminus have been cleaved off. Numerous pseudogenes have been reported for this gene. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
