Description
STAB1 Antibody (PACO20610)
The STAB1 Antibody (PAC020610) is a vital tool for researchers studying the STAB1 protein, a key player in cellular adhesion and immune function. This polyclonal antibody, generated in rabbits, has been rigorously validated for use in Western blotting applications, allowing for the precise detection and analysis of STAB1 in a variety of cell types.STAB1, also known as stabilin-1, is a multifunctional scavenger receptor involved in the clearance of pathogens and cellular debris, as well as in the regulation of immune responses. Its role in immune surveillance and antigen presentation makes it an intriguing target for studies in immunology and related fields.
The STAB1 Antibody enables researchers to explore the functions of STAB1 in health and disease, particularly in the context of inflammatory disorders, infections, and autoimmune conditions.By elucidating the mechanisms by which STAB1 influences immune responses and cell adhesion, researchers can gain valuable insights into potential therapeutic strategies for treating a wide range of diseases. Harnessing the power of the STAB1 Antibody is essential for advancing our understanding of immune regulation and developing innovative treatments that target STAB1-related pathways.

Background: | This gene encodes a large, transmembrane receptor protein which may function in angiogenesis, lymphocyte homing, cell adhesion, or receptor scavenging. The protein contains 7 fasciclin, 16 epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like, and 2 laminin-type EGF-like domains as well as a C-type lectin-like hyaluronan-binding Link module. The protein is primarily expressed on sinusoidal endothelial cells of liver, spleen, and lymph node. |
Synonyms: | stabilin 1 |
UniProt Protein Function: | STAB1: Acts as a scavenger receptor for acetylated low density lipoprotein. Binds to both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and may play a role in defense against bacterial infection. When inhibited in endothelial tube formation assays, there is a marked decrease in cell-cell interactions, suggesting a role in angiogenesis. Involved in the delivery of newly synthesized CHID1/SI-CLP from the biosynthetic compartment to the endosomal/lysosomal system. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a large, transmembrane receptor protein which may function in angiogenesis, lymphocyte homing, cell adhesion, or receptor scavenging. The receptor has been shown to endocytose ligands such as low density lipoprotein, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and advanced glycosylation end products. Supporting its possible role as a scavenger receptor, the protein rapidly cycles between the plasma membrane and early endosomes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
