The SSTR3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16071) is a vital tool for researchers studying the somatostatin receptor 3 (SSTR3) protein. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the SSTR3 protein, this antibody allows for the accurate detection and analysis of SSTR3 in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in neurobiology and endocrinology.SSTR3 is a G-protein coupled receptor that plays a key role in mediating the effects of somatostatin, a hormone involved in regulating neurotransmission and hormone secretion.
The SSTR3 receptor is implicated in various physiological processes, including neuronal signaling, hormone release, and cell growth inhibition. Research into SSTR3 can provide valuable insights into conditions such as neuroendocrine tumors, diabetes, and neurological disorders.By using the SSTR3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16071), researchers can further explore the role of SSTR3 in health and disease, leading to potential therapeutic strategies targeting this receptor for the treatment of various disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the somatostatin receptor protein family. Somatostatins are peptide hormones that regulate diverse cellular functions such as neurotransmission, cell proliferation, and endocrine signaling as well as inhibiting the release of many hormones and other secretory proteins. Somatostatin has two active forms of 14 and 28 amino acids. The biological effects of somatostatins are mediated by a family of G-protein coupled somatostatin receptors that are expressed in a tissue-specific manner. Somatostatin receptors form homodimers and heterodimers with other members of the superfamily as well as with other G-protein coupled receptors and receptor tyrosine kinases. This protein is functionally coupled to adenylyl cyclase. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
