The SPDEF Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6747) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SPDEF, a transcription factor known for its roles in epithelial cell differentiation and immune response regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the SPDEF protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in immunology, cancer research, and beyond.SPDEF, also known as SAM pointed domain containing ETS transcription factor, has been found to play a crucial role in regulating epithelial cell function and maintaining mucosal homeostasis.
Its involvement in immune responses and inflammatory pathways has garnered attention for its potential implications in diseases such as cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma. Research into SPDEF function is essential for understanding its impact on disease development and progression, potentially leading to new therapeutic strategies targeting this transcription factor.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-335 of human SPDEF (NP_036523.1).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ETS family of transcription factors. It is highly expressed in the prostate epithelial cells, and functions as an androgen-independent transactivator of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) promoter. Higher expression of this protein has also been reported in brain, breast, lung and ovarian tumors, compared to the corresponding normal tissues, and it shows better tumor-association than other cancer-associated molecules, making it a more suitable target for developing specific cancer therapies. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
