The SPAG6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB3088) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SPAG6, a protein involved in cilia and flagella formation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the SPAG6 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of SPAG6 in various cell types, making it suitable for research in cell biology and developmental biology.SPAG6 plays a crucial role in the assembly and function of cilia and flagella, structures essential for processes such as cellular motility and signal transduction.
Defects in SPAG6 have been linked to ciliopathies, disorders characterized by abnormal cilia structure and function. By studying SPAG6, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying cilia formation and function, as well as potential therapeutic targets for ciliopathy-related diseases. The SPAG6 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the function of SPAG6 in various biological processes.

The correlation of anti-sperm antibodies with cases of unexplained infertility implicates a role for these antibodies in blocking fertilization. Improved diagnosis and treatment of immunologic infertility, as well as identification of proteins for targeted contraception, are dependent on the identification and characterization of relevant sperm antigens. The protein expressed by this gene is recognized by anti-sperm antibodies from an infertile man. This protein localizes to the tail of permeabilized human sperm and contains eight contiguous armadillo repeats, a motif known to mediate protein-protein interactions. Studies in mice suggest that this protein is involved in sperm flagellar motility and maintenance of the structural integrity of mature sperm. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
