SORCS1 Antibody (PACO54542)
The SORCS1 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO54542) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SORCS1, a protein involved in various cellular functions including intracellular trafficking and signaling pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the SORCS1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in neuroscience, developmental biology, and metabolism research.
SORCS1, a member of the VPS10P domain receptor family, is known to be involved in processes such as endocytosis, vesicular trafficking, and protein sorting. Its diverse functions make it a key player in various physiological and pathological conditions, including neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic diseases, and cancer. Investigating the role of SORCS1 can provide valuable insights into these complex diseases and potentially lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting this protein.

Immunofluorescence staining of MCF-7 cells with PACO54542 at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). | |

UniProt Protein Function: | SORCS1: one family member of vacuolar protein sorting 10 (VPS10) domain-containing receptor proteins. The VPS10 domain name comes from the yeast carboxypeptidase Y sorting receptor Vps10 protein. Members of this gene family are large with many exons but the CDS lengths are usually less than 3700 nt. Very large introns typically separate the exons encoding the VPS10 domain; the remaining exons are separated by much smaller-sized introns. These genes are strongly expressed in the central nervous system. Two of the five family members (sortilin and sortilin-related receptor) are synthesized as preproproteins; it is not yet known if this encoded protein is also a preproprotein. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
