The SOD2 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB19576) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) enzyme, which plays a crucial role in antioxidant defense and the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications.SOD2 is an essential enzyme located in the mitochondria, where it helps to detoxify superoxide radicals and protect cells from oxidative damage. Dysregulation of SOD2 activity has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases.
By using this antibody to detect and analyze SOD2 levels in different cell types, researchers can gain insight into the role of this enzyme in physiological and pathological processes.Overall, the SOD2 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the function of SOD2 in health and disease. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it ideal for studies in areas such as oxidative stress, aging, and metabolic disorders. Researchers in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology will find this antibody essential for their research endeavors.

This gene is a member of the iron/manganese superoxide dismutase family. It encodes a mitochondrial protein that forms a homotetramer and binds one manganese ion per subunit. This protein binds to the superoxide byproducts of oxidative phosphorylation and converts them to hydrogen peroxide and diatomic oxygen. Mutations in this gene have been associated with idiopathic cardiomyopathy (IDC), premature aging, sporadic motor neuron disease, and cancer. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 1.
