Description
SNAP25 Monoclonal Antibody [P4E11AT] (CPAB0521)
The SNAP25 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0521) is specifically designed for research involving SNAP25, a key component of the SNARE complex involved in neurotransmitter release. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly reactive with human and rat samples, and has been validated for use in various applications including Western blot and immunofluorescence.SNAP25, also known as synaptosomal-associated protein 25, plays a crucial role in synaptic transmission by mediating the fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. Dysregulation of SNAP25 has been implicated in various neurological disorders such as epilepsy, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease.
Understanding the function and regulation of SNAP25 is essential for unraveling the mechanisms underlying these conditions and developing targeted therapies. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the SNAP25 Polyclonal Antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying synaptic transmission and neurological disorders. Its ability to detect and analyze SNAP25 in different cell types makes it a versatile resource for advancing our understanding of the intricate processes governing neurotransmitter release in the brain.

Background: | Synaptic vesicle membrane docking and fusion is mediated by SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) located on the vesicle membrane (v-SNAREs) and the target membrane (t-SNAREs). The assembled v-SNARE/t-SNARE complex consists of a bundle of four helices, one of which is supplied by v-SNARE and the other three by t-SNARE. For t-SNAREs on the plasma membrane, the protein syntaxin supplies one helix and the protein encoded by this gene contributes the other two. Therefore, SNAP25 product is a presynaptic plasma membrane protein involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. The synaptosomal-associated protein (SNAP-25) is an essential component of the core complex that mediates presynaptic vesicle trafficking. Thus, SNAP-25 is directly involved in the release of neurotransmitters. |
