The SLCO1B1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17082) is specifically designed for research involving SLCO1B1, a cell surface transporter protein responsible for the uptake of drugs and endogenous compounds into the liver. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.SLCO1B1, also known as organic anion transporting polypeptide 1B1, plays a crucial role in the pharmacokinetics of numerous drugs, including statins and anticancer agents. Understanding the expression and function of SLCO1B1 is essential for predicting drug efficacy, toxicity, and drug-drug interactions.
Research involving this transporter protein is vital for personalized medicine approaches and optimizing therapeutic outcomes for patients. The SLCO1B1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for studying the role of SLCO1B1 in drug transport and metabolism, as well as its potential implications in drug response variability and personalized medicine strategies. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for researchers in the fields of pharmacology, drug development, and clinical medicine.

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 597-691 of human SLCO1B1 (NP_006437.3).
This gene encodes a liver-specific member of the organic anion transporter family. The encoded protein is a transmembrane receptor that mediates the sodium-independent uptake of numerous endogenous compounds including bilirubin, 17-beta-glucuronosyl estradiol and leukotriene C4. This protein is also involved in the removal of drug compounds such as statins, bromosulfophthalein and rifampin from the blood into the hepatocytes. Polymorphisms in the gene encoding this protein are associated with impaired transporter function.
