The SLC7A9 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12848) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SLC7A9, a critical transporter protein involved in amino acid metabolism and kidney function. This antibody, generated in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the SLC7A9 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in nephrology, amino acid transport disorders, and kidney disease research.SLC7A9, also known as b0,+ AT, plays a pivotal role in the reabsorption of cystine and dibasic amino acids in the kidneys.
Its dysfunction is associated with cystinuria, a genetic disorder characterized by the formation of cystine stones in the urinary tract. Understanding the mechanisms and regulation of SLC7A9 is essential for advancing the development of targeted therapies for cystinuria and related kidney conditions. This antibody serves as a valuable tool in unraveling the complexities of SLC7A9 function and its implications in health and disease.

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-100 of human SLC7A9 (NP_055085.1).
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to a family of light subunits of amino acid transporters. This protein plays a role in the high-affinity and sodium-independent transport of cystine and neutral and dibasic amino acids, and appears to function in the reabsorption of cystine in the kidney tubule. Mutations in this gene cause non-type I cystinuria, a disease that leads to cystine stones in the urinary system due to impaired transport of cystine and dibasic amino acids. Alternate transcript variants, which encode the same protein, have been found for this gene.
