The SLC29A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13204) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SLC29A1, a cell membrane protein involved in nucleoside transport. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the SLC29A1 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of SLC29A1 expression in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in molecular biology and drug development.SLC29A1, also known as equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1 (ENT1), plays a crucial role in the transport of nucleosides across cell membranes, impacting processes such as nucleotide metabolism and nucleoside-derived drug uptake.
Understanding the function and regulation of SLC29A1 is essential for developing targeted therapies for diseases such as cancer, viral infections, and neurodegenerative disorders, where nucleoside transport plays a significant role in disease progression. The SLC29A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13204) provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the role of SLC29A1 in these pathological processes and advancing our understanding of nucleoside transport mechanisms.

This gene is a member of the equilibrative nucleoside transporter family. The gene encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein that localizes to the plasma and mitochondrial membranes and mediates the cellular uptake of nucleosides from the surrounding medium. The protein is categorized as an equilibrative (as opposed to concentrative) transporter that is sensitive to inhibition by nitrobenzylthioinosine (NBMPR). Nucleoside transporters are required for nucleotide synthesis in cells that lack de novo nucleoside synthesis pathways, and are also necessary for the uptake of cytotoxic nucleosides used for cancer and viral chemotherapies. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been found for this gene.
