The SLC25A37 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO58516) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the SLC25A37 protein, a key player in mitochondrial biology. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blotting and immunofluorescence experiments.SLC25A37, also known as the mitochondrial phosphate carrier, is involved in the transport of phosphate across the inner mitochondrial membrane, a critical process for ATP production and energy metabolism.
Dysregulation of SLC25A37 has been implicated in various diseases, including metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative conditions.By using the SLC25A37 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain insights into the function and regulation of SLC25A37 in different cell types and experimental conditions. This antibody enables precise detection and analysis of SLC25A37 levels, facilitating research in mitochondrial biology, bioenergetics, and disease pathways involving mitochondrial dysfunction.
IHC image of PACO58516 diluted at 1:200 and staining in paraffin-embedded human skeletal muscle tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Background:
Mitochondrial iron transporter that specifically mediates iron uptake in developing erythroid cells, thereby playing an essential role in heme biosynthesis. The iron delivered into the mitochondria, presumably as Fe(2+), is then probably delivered to ferrochelatase to catalyze Fe(2+) incorporation into protoprophyrin IX to make heme (By similarity).
Synonyms:
Mitoferrin-1 (Mitochondrial iron transporter 1) (Mitochondrial solute carrier protein) (Solute carrier family 25 member 37), SLC25A37, MFRN MSCP

NCBI Summary:
SLC25A37 is a solute carrier localized in the mitochondrial inner membrane. It functions as an essential iron importer for the synthesis of mitochondrial heme and iron-sulfur clusters (summary by Chen et al., 2009 [PubMed 19805291]).[supplied by OMIM, Jan 2011]
